This weekend has had its ups and downs—both literally and figuratively. I spent Saturday with Fredrik fixing things inside and out, and it took us five hours to figure out how to fill the tank. When we finally managed to fill the tank, I realized that no water was coming out of the pump. Just air… It seems like there’s a leaky connection or pipe somewhere. Pretty annoying.

It may be a result of one of the tenants this past winter forgetting to drain the water pipes. They were completely frozen the next time I went up, and that could, of course, have damaged both the pipes and the pump. And this winter, for the first time, we had problems where the water pump had to be “bled” before it would start, which may have been a warning sign of what was to come.

In any case, it’s not easy to find a plumber out here on the plateau, so this might have to wait until winter. Until then, people will have to make do with fetching water in buckets :(

Other things from the weekend

  • The door lock was broken upon arrival (as reported by the previous tenant)
  • All the smoke detectors have now been installed (3 in total)
  • We finally found a solution for the 220V power cord for the TV! Now we just need to realign the satellite dish…
